CTIA Invites Attendees to Discover Their Inner Photographers Print E-mail

CTIA Invites Attendees to Discover Their Inner Photographers and Capture the World's Largest Wireless Event on Their Phones

CTIA-The Wireless Association(TM) has once again broadened the scope of the CTIA WIRELESS 2005 event by intersecting wireless technology with imaging and photography. This year's event, held March 14-16, 2005 in New Orleans, LA, will highlight the growing trend that is Wireless Imaging by featuring a 40 ft Imaging Gallery comprised of photographs produced using camera phones. Additionally, there will be a unique demonstration comparing the quality of images taken with camera phones to those taken by digital and 35mm cameras.

"Wireless Imaging is an ever-developing segment of the wireless industry, one that has proven extremely popular among consumers. In fact, last year there were more camera phones sold in the U.S. than digital cameras," said Steve Largent, President & CEO of CTIA. "We look forward to offering our attendees the latest information and research on this sector as well as hosting those companies leading the charge to develop the camera phones and wireless imaging technologies of tomorrow."

Research firm Strategy Analytics projects camera phone sales will reach 700 million globally by 2010. Additionally, they expect nearly half of all wireless phones sold in North America this year to be camera phone enabled. CTIA WIRELESS 2005 will focus on the explosive growth of camera phones by featuring:

-- Camera Phone Print Stations from Kodak located on the exhibit floor and around the Morial Convention Center so attendees can print and share their CTIA experiences,

-- Wireless Imaging Gallery featuring the Attendee Gallery Wall discovering the budding photographers among the CTIA WIRELESS 2005 attendees. Attendees are invited to take pictures of their experiences at the show and CTIA will post some of the images to an Attendee Gallery Wall on the exhibit floor,

-- Wireless Imaging Pavilion hosting dozens of companies dedicated to the hardware and software components, delivery services and printing solutions of the wireless imaging industry, and

-- Mobile Images Perspectives Seminar examining the camera phone explosion in sales and usage trends, camera phone functionality and performance of tomorrow, image quality and much more.

The Wireless Imaging Gallery will only be displayed on the CTIA WIRELESS 2005 exhibit floor. CTIA WIRELESS 2005 is the world's largest wireless trade show, featuring more than one mile in exhibit space. This year, the show will take place at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, March 14-16.
