This summer, millions of people around the world will use camera phones to capture their favorite vacation memories. Although these phones are easy to use, many consumers don't know how to get the most out of their camera phone.
For these consumers, AT&T Wireless, Eastman Kodak Company and Nokia worked with an expert on camera phone photography to develop tips on taking, storing and sending quality photos.
With hundreds-of-millions already in use, and millions more expected to be sold this year, camera phones have become the newest must-have device. The ability to take a photo and send it to another phone, PDA or computer, store it in an online photo album or print it out, is turning camera phones into invaluable wireless companions.
"Taking a great camera phone picture is easy, if you just keep three things in mind: The light, the scene and the camera phone itself," said Dennis Curtin, operator of the photocourse.com web site and author of the upcoming book Choosing and Using a Camera Phone. "While camera phones do not have all of the bells and whistles of many digital cameras, they provide an opportunity for people to capture wonderful and compelling images especially in those unexpected situations where most people may not have thought to bring a traditional camera."
Some of Curtin's suggestions include:
-
Shoot a lot of pictures digital images are free, so you can pick the best and delete the rest
-
The best time for photos is when it is cloudy, yet bright in this light you can do no wrong
-
Get as close as possible, and have a group cluster together and completely fill the frame
-
Keep your camera phone charged
