InterVideo Delivers Multiple Formats of Video Codecs on Major Handset Platforms at CeBIT Print E-mail

CeBIT 2005 - InterVideo, Inc. , a pioneer in advancing DVD and MPEG-multimedia software technology, announced today it is demonstrating its multimedia reference design board with DMB, DivX(R), MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 video playback capabilities at the CeBIT show, Hall 22, Stand A46 (12) this week.

The reference design board is based on Texas Instruments' latest digital media processing platform for portable devices and high-end cell phones. With InterVideo's proven track record in multimedia technology, the company offers its multimedia codecs in a wide range of formats, from MPEG-2 to the latest DMB-H. System integrators and OEMs specializing in handset or portable media player manufacturing can now easily offer multimedia solutions for their brand customers. Major portable media player OEM manufacturers in Asia have already adopted InterVideo's multimedia codecs on their products.

While providing its multimedia codecs across major mobile phone operating systems, including Windows Mobile, Symbian and Linux operating systems, InterVideo also makes its codec work efficiently on featured phones that are not using a high level operating system. InterVideo multimedia codecs technology allows mass-market consumers with featured phones to enjoy premium multimedia services and functionality without the high cost. One such example will be the xCute DV1 from CuteMobile. InterVideo's leading-edge video codecs enable the 3-megapixel camera phone to function as a digital camcorder, recording VGA quality video clips at 30 frames per second.

InterVideo will demonstrate the MPEG-4 streaming video capture and stabilizer on the latest TI digital media processing platform and the industry's latest four megapixel CCD equipped with true VGA video output. In addition to offering highly integrated multimedia solutions with TI's digital media processing and OMAP platforms, InterVideo also provides individual codecs for applications such as set top boxes, personal video recorders, personal digital assistants, and digital audio/media broadcast receivers.

Licensing

Applications, libraries, sample application code and documentation are available for OEMs, system integrators and other third parties.
