Alltel Wireless Debuts Bluetooth® Camera Phone from LG Alltel Wireless (NYSE: AT), America’s largest network, and LG Electronics MobileComm USA Inc. (LG Mobile Phones) today announced that the LG AX245 Bluetooth® camera phone is now available to Alltel customers. Alltel is the first carrier to launch the handset. “This is a sleek clamshell handset that comes loaded with all of the innovative features customers expect from Alltel and LG,” said Wade McGill, senior vice president of product management for Alltel Wireless.  “We’re excited to be the first wireless carrier to make this handset available to customers.” “LG is thrilled to offer Alltel customers the LG AX245 Bluetooth® camera phone,” said Jeff Hwang, senior vice president of marketing and product management, LG Electronics MobileComm USA, Inc. “The lustrous design and advanced capabilities of LG’s latest handset ensure that Alltel customers are always in touch with friends and family.” In addition to hands-free Bluetooth® technology, the AX245 features a VGA camera with flash, Axcess Web capability and Axcess picture messaging. It has a built-in speakerphone and voice-activated dialing as well as BREW® client 3.1.4.
For customers’ added convenience, the AX245 is equipped to receive software updates and programming wirelessly “over the air,” reducing the need for maintenance-related store visits. The AX245 is available from Alltel for $59.99 after a $60 mail-in rebate.
