Owners of the new camera cellphones are enjoying the fun and convenience of taking snapshots, but with one inconvenient drawback: until now the only way to share the pictures was by sending them over the carrier's network, usually for a fee.

FutureDial has provided another option with the latest version of its SnapMedia(TM) Software, which has the ability to download pictures from camera cellphones to the PC. Pictures that are downloaded to the PC can then be stored, printed or e-mailed to friends, while freeing-up precious memory space on the camera phone to allow the user to take even more pictures. Personal pictures on the PC can be cropped, resized, rotated and transferred to the phone. Pictures and ringers can be assigned to specific names in the phonebook so that when someone calls, a personalized picture and unique ringer will be used as a visual and musical "Caller ID."
