Feb. 21, 2005 Flash memory is a popular storage technology for portable devices, such as digital audio players. Because flash is a solid-state memory, the songs don't skip. Introduced today at PMA 2005
(Booth # 4172), PNY Technologies(R), Inc. has expanded its digital entertainment product family to include a solid-state, 2GB digital audio player. The company's Vibe(TM) digital audio player family supports MP3 and WMA file formats and features an all-in-one MP3 player, USB flash drive, FM radio and voice recorder.
Unlike some hard-drive-based digital music players, PNY's Vibe digital audio device sports a sleek design that features a sliding faceplate to expose and protect the control panel and an EL backlit LCD graphics display. When interfaced with a desktop, users can store and create music folders, thereby maximizing Vibe's folder functionality. The player's USB connection allows for maximum storage and an easy download of the music files right from the user's desktop. Moreover, its control panel allows users to fast forward and rewind the player to songs of their choice and manage the order that the music is played.
"Consumers want mobility, convenience and functionality from their digital audio equipment," said John Orzepowski, marketing manager for flash media, digital entertainment and flash drives for PNY Technologies. "We offer a versatile line of digital audio players for this growing market. Our new, 2GB digital audio player is ideal for users demanding higher capacity and more features at an affordable price. Listening to music, storing data and voice recording is easy with PNY's new, Vibe 2GB digital audio device."
Operating on a single AAA battery (included), users can enjoy up to 12 hours of continuous play and up to 500 songs with high-quality SRS-WOW enhanced sound. Plus, PNY's Vibe digital audio player includes an equalizer that can be customized by the user or simply preset to one of the five formats--rock, jazz, classical, pop and flat.
PNY's Vibe digital audio players are also available in 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and 1GB capacities and come with ear bud headphones, a USB extension cable and lanyard. The new 2GB unit's firmware will be upgradeable from PNY's Web site. The device supports multiple languages including English, French and Spanish and will be available from leading retailers in Q2 for a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $299.
PNY offers a full line of digital media solutions to meet a range of professional and amateur needs. PNY's digital media product line includes: the PNY Optima CompactFlash(TM) Professional Series, CompactFlash(TM) cards, Secure Digital(TM) cards, SmartMedia(TM) cards and MultiMedia(TM) cards as well as single and multi slot USB 2.0 card readers and PCMCIA adapters.
