Amazon Selects Scott Kelby’s Photography Book as a Top-10 Computer & Internet Books Print E-mail

The Digital Photography Book, by best-selling technology writer Scott Kelby, has been named a top-10 Computer & Internet Editor’s Pick, one of the Best Books of 2006 by Amazon.com and the #1 Consumer’s Favorite for Arts & Photography. Additionally, Scott’s The Photoshop Channels Book was named as a top-10 Computer & Internet Consumer’s Favorite on Amazon.com.

The Digital Photography Book was written as a “how to” book for digital photographers of all skill levels, teaching the techniques today's top digital pros use in Scott’s trademark easy-to-follow step-by-step style. It’s not a book full of confusing jargon and detailed concepts; it’s a book of which button to push, which setting to use, when to use them, and nearly two hundred "tricks of the trade" to get readers sharper, more colorful, professional-looking photos.

Scott describes the book as such: "If you and I were out on a shoot, and you asked me how to get a certain effect, I wouldn't stand there and give you a lecture about aperture, exposure, and depth of field. In real life, I'd just say something like, 'Get out your telephoto lens, set your f/stop to f/2.8, focus, and fire away.' That's what I hoped to accomplish here: a book of you and I shooting where I answer questions, give advice, and share the secrets I've learned just like I would with a friend.”

People who purchased the book on Amazon.com have said the following:

“I read it cover to cover, learned a ton about camera equipment and how to get quality photographs. And with the way Scott writes his books, it's a nice easy read and you'll even crack a smile now and again throughout the book.”

“You can browse through the book looking at the photos and if one really catches your eye you can learn how to take a pic just like it in a few minutes! No fluff, no long winded explanations, just the right amount of info you need. The book is small so you can put it in your camera bag and refer to it while you are shooting. This is one of the best books on photography I have purchased.”

“Each page of this book offers professional tips to make it easy for you to succeed. It covers everything from getting sharper pictures, shooting flowers, weddings, landscapes, and all other types of pictures you'll want to take.”
